Is your kitchen hood's ducting watertight? According to industry code standards, duct pipe should be liquid tight. After welding or connecting the exhaust grease duct pipe, water testing duct pipes is an excellent method for finding cracks and leaks in those duct pipes. The smoke testing is the NFPA 96 code standard, but smoke floats to the top of the surface of the pipe not finding the leaks on the bottom of the pipe. Our method softly coats the inner ducting to easily find leaks. So, when we start flushing your duct pipes the leaks are not flooding your kitchen's lights, electrical, or top of the exhaust hood with grease.
